Enfin un écrivain français qui nous offre un roman qui nous emporte dans une histoire épique presque digne de Moby  Dick. Une imagination, une fantaisie loufoque, un conte où la tendresse et les idéaux s’écrasent contre le mur de la cupidité, de la science dévoyée à de tristes desseins.

En 217 pages Pierre Raufast nous emporte de Cergy-Pontoise à l’Alaska sur un baleinier puis dans l’univers des laboratoires de recherche médicale et enfin dans celui des starts up de la Silicone Valley en passant par les hackers Russes et l’Amérique du Sud !

Richeville, ce fragile jeune diplômé de l’Essec un peu paumé et très idéaliste va vivre des aventures incroyables où les baleines sont le fil conducteur de ce texte jubilatoire.

Mais ce qui est intéressant c’est l’écriture de Pierre Raufast, sa construction littéraire et son univers. Un vrai roman foisonnant qui vous emporte  et ne vous lâche plus.

Le début du livre commence gentiment, il nous  permet de bien comprendre la personnalité de Richeville, puis vers la page 60 tout bascule et le livre devient quasi un thriller déjanté. Tous les personnages ont de l’épaisseur psychologique, d’ailleurs chacun raconte sa vision de l’histoire dans un chapitre le concernant.

C’est un livre  idéal pour les vacances, il y a de la fantaisie, du dépaysement, de la poésie, une belle caricature de notre société à travers le mythe de la sauvegarde d’une espèce en danger, la baleine.
